Education "Paul Revere"

Our "Paul Revere" work is dedicated to “getting the word out” about peak oil, climate change, and the societal crises that both of these events portend for all of us. Our efforts thus far include:

  • Making several presentations at schools, churches, and other community organizations including screenings of The End of Suburbia, and its antidote, The Power of Community
  • Writing a monthly column for the Brattleboro Commons
  • Hosting a monthly series the third Wednesday of each month--"Building Sustainable Communities"--of films, presentations, talks, etc. at the Marlboro College Graduate Center
  • Making a peak oil presentation before the Windham Regional Commission (WRC)
  • Sponsoring an essay contest on peak oil for high school students in our region.
  • Creating a POS website (www.postoilsolutions.org)
  • Co-sponsoring with the Brattleboro chapter of the Vermont Earth Institute a talk by Jim Merkel (Radical Simplicity).
