Widely regarded as one of the world's foremost authorities on Peak Oil, Richard Heinberg will be speaking at the Brattleboro Union High School auditorium, Fairground Road, on Wednesday, April 23, 2008, at 7:00 PM. There will be suggested donation of $5 for this event.
 
His topic will be, "Post Carbon Cities: Planning for Energy and Climate Uncertainty.
 
His talk is being sponsored by the Brattleboro Selectboard, the Brattleboro Regional Peak Oil Task Force, and Post Oil Solutions.
 
Prior to his talk,  Mr. Heinberg will be joined by the Selectboard and its Peak Oil Task Force for a private dinner meeting to discuss, amongst other things, the subject of municipal and regional planning for the growing petroleum crisis.
 
Richard Heinberg is the author of eight books including The Party's Over: Oil, War, and the Fate of Industrial Societies (New Society, 2003, 2005); Powerdown: Options and Actions for a Post-Carbon World (New Society, 2004), The Oil Depletion Protocol (New Society, 2006), and Peak Everything (New Society), 2007). He is a Senior Fellow of the Post Carbon Institute, writes a regular column for The Ecologist, and has authored scores of essays and articles.
